Prashant Behera is a visionary entrepreneur and the driving force behind Prakash Films—one of Eastern India’s leading film distribution and production houses—and the national music label, Prakash Music. Inspired by his father Shri Pratap Chandra Behera’s pioneering work in the Odia film industry, Prashant co-founded Prakash Films in 2013, in memory of his late brother, Prakash Behera.
Under his leadership, Prakash Films has distributed over 1,000 films across multiple languages, including titles like Mary Kom, Baahubali 1 & 2, Kesari 2, Avengers: Endgame, and the regional sensation Bou Buttu Bhuta. His sharp market insight has helped redefine regional distribution strategy across Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
Expanding into film production, Prakash Films released its debut film Suna Pila Tike Screw Dhila, followed by the landmark 2025 release Rangasoor, which was officially selected for the New York Film Festival on June 21, 2025, placing both Prakash Films and Prashant Behera on the global map.
His parallel venture, Prakash Music, has grown into a national platform, producing everything from soulful ballads to devotional tracks, and supporting emerging talent from across India.
Prashant Behera’s vision is to build an integrated entertainment ecosystem that connects distribution, production, music, and digital—with a focus on high-quality storytelling rooted in culture and language, reaching audiences across regions and platforms.
